[skill]cry of frustration[/skill] works great with gwen.
You can use [skill]choking gas[/skill] [skill]concussion shot[/skill] [skill]epidemic[/skill] and [skill]practiced stance[/skill] yourself.

[skill]Barrage[/skill]: Elite Bow Attack. All your Preparations are removed. Shoot arrows at up to 6 foes adjacent to your target. These arrows strike for +5...17 damage if they hit.
[skill]Choking gas[/skill]: Preparation. For 1...10 seconds, your arrows deal 1...7 more damage and spread Choking Gas to all adjacent foes on impact. Choking Gas interrupts foes attempting to cast spells.
Do you see where you went wrong ?

ultimate ranger intrupting build
To clarify point here!
Barage and preparations dont work together, barage will strip the preparation, so its a waste of time, if you do use barage you would use it with either splinter weapon as a splinter/barager or a cojure/barager as R/E, anyway, all true rangers know that barage is for noobs or begining rangers, true rangers use elites like Broadhead arrow, burning arrow and also cripshot(PVP) and magebane shot, there so many great elite skills available to ranger far superior to barage.

There's nothing like Splinter-Barrage when you know you'll be wading your way through some huge (melee) mobs of enemies.

With the nerf to Splinter Weapon, [wiki]Volley[/wiki] ==> that piece of **** called Barrage. You're only going to hit 3 targets from Splinter Weapon so you don't need more than 3 arrows...

I can keep up Choking Gas (with Practiced Stance) and Flurry without getting into energy problems. Something is wrong with your heroes setup with regard to energy management, or he uses Savage Shot?
Quote:
So now I'm looking at Fevered Dreams. I haven't got the skill yet, so I want to know if its worth bothering capping. Do heroes use it correctly or am I going to have to micro-manage them?
|
The latter probably, I've tried BHA on me and Fevered Dreams on Norgu with no effect unless I make him use FD. Magrid is similarly ineffective with FD and concussion shot.
A hero ranger with a few interrupts can effectively intercept most spells, preferably on a single target. For groups of targets, PS+CG should work well, or perhaps BHA+Epidemic.

Rez Sig
I can't remember what is the attributes I used but effectively, the ranger hero is good enough to shut a single caster & to a certain extend, a group of caster. Since AI has insane reflexes, Power Drain & Leech Signet is godly in their hands. :P

I absolutely agree with this post. In fact, I have been using [skill]Power Drain[/skill] and [skill]Leech Signet[/skill] on a lot of my Heroes as secondary mesmers. A few points in Inspiration is well worth it, imho. Interrupts plus Energy is mighty nice.
I also think [skill]Epidemic[/skill] with ranger Heroes applying conditions is very effective. Moreover, Epidemic is unlinked to attribute points.

Off-topic, but just type: "[ skill]Skill Name[ /skill]" without the spaces after "[" symbol and it should work.

Kay. I'll help you out here...
What everyone is trying to point out to you is that Barrage removes Choking Gas the moment you use it.. Thus no Choking Gas will be applied by Barrage, not ever ever ever.

Sadly that's too complex for them.
The Heroes only understand the first part of the skill -eg. "Interrupt target foe".
They don't understand that the skill is meant as their e-management.
So if you throw it on a monky hero he will - having nothing to overheal at start - pretty much interrupt the first thing possible, even when at max energy!
So in those cases - [skill]Power Return[/skill] über alles!

Jeez! I hadn't played the ranger in so long that I actually went "Dude!11! That's wicked! Why didn't "I" think of that! DUDE!11!!"
(Disclaimer: Some parts fo my mental process were altered to make them more appealing to the normal reader. In reality I use much more "1"s!1!!11!!11!11)
Jikes! I guess I should have used the ranger more then just for a pretty face with some pretty armour!

Ohh and [skill]Mending Touch[/skill] is just evil evil evil on heroes!
Since they feel that they must serve as the conditions removal-dude for the party - they LOVE running around and touching ppl!
So i'd SERIOUSLY suggest [skill]Dismiss Condition[/skill]. At least that way the stand still!

Of course, camping a caster and spamming BHA + random interupts is very skillfull =/
We're talking about PvE = big mobs, barrage can shine here.
